The MAACM Board is pleased to announce that it will once again offer scholarships for the annual educational conference to members of the association who are in good standing (dues paid for 2012). The Board’s desire is to grant 14 scholarships – ideally, 2 scholarship awards per each eligible member state and the District of Columbia. The awards will include up to $400 for expenses incurred at the conference, which may include meals, accommodations and travel (all expenses subject to MAACM established per diem). In addition, the $250 conference registration fee will be waived for all scholarship recipients. The application process is open to MAACM members who desire to attend this year’s conference at the Clairon Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, Ocean City, Maryland, beginning October 21, 2012.
The scholarships will be primarily awarded on the tasks that the organization needs to be performed and your willingness to perform those tasks, so please indicate below the tasks you are willing to do at this year's conference. At a minimum, recipients will serve as a host and/or reporter for one workshop. Host responsibilities include introducing a speaker and collecting session evaluations. Reporting responsibilities include writing a summary of the assigned workshop for The Beacon. Other duties such as setting up for the dinner dance or assisting at the registration desk may also be required. First time applicants and applicants who did not receive a scholarship in 2011 will receive priority.
To apply, please complete the on-line form below. All applications must be received by August 1, 2012.
