Welcome members, colleagues, and visitors to the
Mid-Atlantic Association for Court Management.
It is my honor to serve as President and to carry forward the important work of this organization. Since my first MAACM Conference in 1997, I have seen how our members strengthen one another through shared knowledge, collaboration, and a deep commitment to justice.
Our 2026 theme,
Opening the Doors to Justice: Transparency, AI,
and Customer Service in the Modern Court,
challenges us to look ahead with clarity and courage.
- Transparency builds public trust. Courts must not only deliver justice but also show it in ways that are open, understandable, and accountable.
- Artificial intelligence offers tools that can make us more efficient and accurate. But technology must always serve people, used ethically, equitably, and with empathy.
- Customer service reminds us that every person who walks through courthouse doors deserves respect, compassion, and clear communication. Justice is not just an outcome; it is an experience.
As court managers, we are more than administrators. We are architects of access. This year, I invite you to join me in reimagining how courts can be both innovative and humane, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, language, or circumstance, feels seen, heard, and valued.
Together, we can make justice not just a destination but a journey of dignity.
